Coppy ("we", "our", or "us") is a simple app for storing personal information on your device so you can access, copy, and manage it more easily.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Coppy handles, how it is used, and when it may be shared.
1. Information Coppy Handles
Coppy may handle the following information that you choose to store in the app:
- Personal entries you create, such as IDs, account details, contact information, and similar records
- Folder names, labels, and other organization data
- App settings and preferences, including privacy and biometric-related settings
Coppy may also use device features such as:
- Biometric authentication, if enabled or required
- Clipboard access when you choose to copy information
- Share features when you choose to share information to another app or destination
2. How Your Information Is Used
Coppy uses your information only to provide the app’s core functionality, including:
- Storing and displaying your saved entries
- Organizing your data into folders or categories
- Protecting access to the app or certain actions with biometrics
- Remembering your app settings and preferences
- Allowing you to copy or share information when you choose to do so
3. Data Storage
Coppy is designed to store your information locally on your device.
At this time, Coppy does not require you to create an account and does not use a remote server to store your entries.
On Android, the app uses an encrypted local database through SQLCipher. On iOS, data is stored locally on the device through the app’s local database implementation.
4. Biometric Authentication
Coppy may use biometric authentication to protect access to the app or certain actions.
- Coppy does not collect, receive, or store your fingerprint, Face ID data, or other raw biometric templates
- Biometric authentication is handled by your device operating system and platform security framework
- Coppy only receives the result of the authentication attempt, such as whether it succeeded or failed
5. Clipboard and Sharing
If you choose to copy information from Coppy:
- The selected content may be placed on your device clipboard
- Other apps or system features may be able to access clipboard contents depending on your device and operating system behavior
If you choose to share information from Coppy:
- The selected content may be sent to another app, service, or destination chosen by you
- Once shared outside Coppy, that information is subject to the privacy practices of the receiving app or service
6. Data Sharing
Coppy does not sell your personal information.
Coppy does not share your stored data with third parties for advertising, analytics, or marketing.
Your information may only be shared in these situations:
- When you intentionally share data using your device share features
- When copied data becomes available through your device clipboard behavior
- When disclosure is required by applicable law, regulation, or legal process
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Your data remains on your device until you delete it.
You can remove information by:
- Deleting individual entries or folders in the app
- Using the app’s delete-all-data functionality, if available
- Uninstalling the app, subject to how your device handles local app data removal
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to help protect your information within the app, including local storage protections and biometric access controls where supported.
However, no method of storage or device usage is completely risk-free. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, including using device-level protections where available.
9. Children’s Privacy
Coppy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through remote services or user accounts.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
